Sonshine Ranch

We had the most incredible day today at Sonshine Ranch. We had the opportunity to go on a flying fox and rope swing, do some rock climbing, climb through tunnels, ride horses and pet some animals.

To top it all off, the weather was absolutely stunning!

Here are a few photos from our day :)

A special THANK-YOU to the parent helpers who came along to help us today.

Our First Time Using Chrome Books Today

Check out this Persuasive Writing by Yash & Vishnu. It was written on their shared googledoc. Awesome work boys! I definitely want to come and try out your game on Friday :)

Why you should play our game - cup attack!
I think you should play our game because we are the only class with a cup challange.

Reason 1-
From our data that we collected, after 20 attempts our results showed that you are more likely to win than you are to lose this amazing game.

Reason 2-
I think you should play our game because we are the only team that makes you stack cups and then slide them down again. It is fun to play!

Reason 3-
This game involves technique to stack the cups up and slide them back down into formation. So if you enjoy fast games, this is the game for you!

So that is why you should play our game because we are the only team which has this exciting and interactive Minute to Win it game. Don’t forget to stack it and pack it!

Rethinking our School Entrance - Survey
Reremoana School is currently working with the NZ Police and Auckland Transport to rethink the way the school entrance operates. To assist the school, we would appreciate it if you could take the time to respond to the questions in our survey.
At this time, we are gathering information, with the aim to develop options that can then be put forward to the School, the Community, the Ministry of Education and Auckland Transport. The survey needs to be completed by the 11th of November 2016. The more responses we have, the more feedback we can use in developing a safe environment for our children.
Click here for the link to the survey.

Moon Jumping

Moon Jumping!

The weather was absolutely beautiful yesterday afternoon, and what better way to to enjoy the sunshine than doing some MOON JUMPING!

We learned that you would be able to jump six times further on the moon than you can on Earth! So we went outside and measured this out using Veroniques tape measure.

You can see in each picture the small jump between the 2 students, we measured it out then multiplied it by 6 giving us the bigger distance. Amazing huh?

Day One of our Water Challenge!

Here we are with our water bottles. In Room 14 we will each be getting a tick next to our name when we bring our water bottle to school each day, if we manage to finish our drink bottle during the day we will get an extra tick.

Why not try the water challenge at home too!

Thursday, 27 October 2016

Reremoana School is taking part in the Water Challenge for the month of November. Every day we bring/drink water at school we will earn a tick - at the end of the month those ticks will add up to SUPER POINTS!

Minute to Win it!

Minute to Win it
Each student in Room 14 is either working with a buddy or on their own to create their Minute to Win it games. During week 7 of our EOTC week, students will play our Minute to Win it games with the rest of the Pukeko Team. Each student has planned out their games so far, and each person is responsible for supplying something for their game.

Please have all your equipment by Friday so we can have our own class trial of our games. Then we can modify them if we need to.

Week 7 - PB4L

Well done to these students for receiving the PB4L certificates for last week. Awesome!

Doing good is good to do, by giving your attention to the speaker. That can be in class, in the hall or on the playground.

Our Plants

Yay! Mr Allison (our caretaker) has kindly helped Room 14 with drilling a hole into our plastic bottles - thank-you!

On Friday of last week we recycled old plastic bottles and turned them into pot plants. We decorated them with all sorts of different things, we had fun!
We then planted different seeds into the soil - we planted lettuce, radishes, parsley and spinach.

We have been so lucky with this beautiful weather, our plants are sure to grow now.
