Spelling Words

Hi Parents,

Today we put in our weekly homefun and a couple of children were concerned they had the same list as other children in a different group to them.

Please note that within each list there are lots of words - each week I choose the next 10 words from the list, hence the list name (e.g. List Two) is still the same.

Hopefully that clears things up :)

Celebrating Success

Here is Vishnu... Celebrating his Writing today.

Vishnu did a fantastic job with his narrative writing today. He followed our learning intention very well, remembering to use a beginning, middle and an end to his story.

Keep up the good work Vishnu!

Hockey

Kia Ora Room 14

This week we will be having a specialist Hockey Facilitator in to take our students for a session. We recommend that you please come to school with covered in shoes and if you have them (not essential otherwise) some shin pads or long socks to protect our legs.

Thanks, Miss G :)

Our Unique Hands

Cultural Diversity

This week our Homefun was to explore our unique hands. What did you notice about your hands? What did you notice about your family members hands?

We used our hands this week as a way to investigate our own unique cultures. What do you do with your hands that is unique to your culture? We found out that different cultures use their hands for dance, prayer, decorate, to eat with, sing with, clap with and the list goes on.

Here are some photos from our students hands... Aren't they beautiful? We all shared our wonderful home fun tasks with our buddies and we learnt lots.

We are a very multicultural class, it is awesome!

Please feel free to leave a comment below :)

Consider your Choices

On Thursday afternoon we did a Pukeko Team Rotation to go back over our school ABCD's. This was a small refresher afternoon to get us thinking about our Positive Behaviour for Learning.

In Room 14 we had the letter "C" which stands for Consider your choices. Each clip is a different scenario that we might be faced with during our school day. Each clip shows how we always have more than one choice and we should always make the RIGHT choice.

Well done Pukeko Team, I hope you all had fun in Room 14 "Considering your Choices".

Can you spot anyone you know in this video? Leave a comment below and tell us what you think!

Celebrating Success in Writing

WOW!

It looks like we have some expert writers in Room 14 this year.

Today Yash (who is brand new to Reremoana School) and Hamish went to celebrate their writing with Mrs Cantley.

Our theme was "My Summer shoes took me..."

We are currently working on our published work so it will be up on the walls within the next couple of days. Watch this space!

Day One - Done!

Day One Complete

Yay! What a fantastic day we had in Room 14.

I don't know about all of you students, but I thought we had a really fun day together! Heaps of giggles and silliness, perfect to start off the new school year.

Time seemed to fly by today and we got through lots of different things. We talked about what it means to be a good learner and linked this into our classroom "tree-ty". We all took turns signing our tree-ty using our finger prints.

Who is ready for Day Two?

See you all tomorrow Room 14,
Miss G

Gorgeous Room 14, what beautiful smiles we have :)
