Compliments Kete

We are continuing our Random Acts of Kindness in Room 14 with our "Compliments Kete". We write a little message to someone else in Room 14 to compliment them on something that they have been doing well and pop it into our Flax Kete (which was kindly given to us by Hamish and his Mum Alpa).
We have had lots of fun writing special messages to our classroom buddies. Here we are with our notes :)

Landscape Art

Landscape Art

WALHT: Create a landscape using sketching, dye and crayon.

We took inspiration from Artist - Kathryn Carter whose work we saw at The Railway Studios during our Pukeko Team Trip.

What do you think of our artwork?

Bully Free Week

This week is Bully Free week.

In Room 14 we have talked about Random Acts of Kindness and what we can do this week to show someone we care!

Here is what Korben decided he could do to show kindness to someone else. I think his mum and dad will love receiving his notes... I wonder if he got around to doing the cleaning and breakfast?

Pukeko Team Trip

Wow what an eventful day the Pukeko's had!

Today the Pukeko Team took a bus ride into New Market to attend an Art Exhibition.
We began the day at the Auckland Domain and Room 14 headed up to the Museum to begin sketching it into our booklet. We then took a short bus trip down the road to the Art Gallery to look at the beautiful art work, we even found the illustrator Stephanie Thatcher's work for the Great Galloping Galoot!
After our visit to the Art Gallery we went back to the Domain to look at the beautiful flowers and plants at the Winter Gardens. This was very cool!
Soon after, the weather packed in and we made our way up to the Museum for lunch and a wander around the exhibitions there.

We certainly managed to pack a lot into one day! A special thank you to all our parent helpers and Miss Tate for helping us today, you were all wonderful and we really appreciated your support. Thank-you!

We have a special visitor in our classroom for the week!

Tena Koutou Katoa,

Ko Brittney taku ingoa (or you can call me Miss Tate).

I am currently studying my first year of a Bachelors of Teaching at AUT and have been given the pleasure to do my practicum at Reremoana Primary School.

I am the second oldest of 4 children and try to spend as much time as I can with my family as they are important to me.
Working in education has always been a passion for me and an environment that I am used to being in.

I believe that the most rewarding thing in teaching is that we contribute to our children's knowledge on a daily basis.
Not only do I want to be a teacher but I also aim to be a positive role model to our tamariki.

I look forward to working along side Miss Glen and being part of Room 14.

Miss Tate :)

Miss Tate will be with Room 14 from Friday 6th of May until Friday 13th of May. Welcome to our class, we are hopeful you will have a positive learning experience in our room!
